Hispanic Heritage Month just ended. One of the primary reasons that I am running for my local water board is that the board composition does not reflect the population and there is very little change.
Water boards are often ignored during the election cycle. As a result, there is very little change: in many cases candidates run unopposed. When a position becomes available, the position is "appointed" - keeping membership to a select club.
There are 75 board positions on water agencies in Orange County, only 4 are filled by Latinos - 5%. Latinos make up 35-40% of the population in Orange County/City of Tustin. Please take part in change - Vote!
There are two positions open for East Orange County Water District (EOCWD) - please cast your (1) vote just for Julio Morales, to make it count.
